Kia ora e te whānau o Te Papapa School,

I hope everyone is enjoying the school holidays and managing to relax during this very unusual and challenging time. As you will have heard, unfortunately we are remaining in level 3 for at least the first week of term 4, which means distance learning will continue for most children.

Teachers are busily preparing hard copy packs to be collected on Tuesday from 1pm to 2.30pm. These will include learning for a week when hopefully by which time we might be back in school physically for all children. If not we will continue to provide weekly hard packs.

Clarification about our level 3 Bubble School requirements is as follows.

We will have a small number of staff who will be working on-site daily to supervise students who need to attend because of parents’ essential work arrangements. The students will be in bubbles of 10 which will remain the same every day.

All staff in school from next week will have had a negative covid test prior to them entering the school grounds. You will also be pleased to know that all our school staff have had at least their first covid vaccination with most having had both.

To help us plan for any children attending school can you please notify your classroom teacher and advise them of the exact days of the week your child/ren are required at school during Level 3 starting on Monday.

Even if your child attended during term 3 can you please still advise your classroom teacher, Melody, Anita or a SLT member so we can be properly prepared.

For everyone else we will continue to work online with distance learning beginning on Monday at 9.00am. Your child’s classroom teacher will send out more information about this before Monday.

Remember that your first point of contact for anything you need is your child’s teacher. They are more than willing and able to help wherever they can. Otherwise, any of the SLT are always available to help too.

Tēnākoa tiaki ia koe
